Alama Report
Methodology

How every number gets into Alama Report

We publish only what an official source has printed, show our arithmetic, and label our interpretation.

Fact, calculation, our read

Every signal has the same three parts. Fact is what the source printed, with its period and unit. Calculation is anything we worked out, with the arithmetic shown so you can check it. Our read is our interpretation; it is always labelled, written with words such as "may" or "could", and never presented as fact.

Verification before sending

Each figure is recorded with the document it comes from, the page or table, and the date we retrieved it. A figure cannot be used until it has been checked against the original document. A signal is published only when all its figures are verified and it passes our editorial checks. When a figure first appeared in the press, we confirm it against the official release, or say clearly where it was reported.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it in the next issue and note the correction on the issue's web page. Report an error to info@alamareport.com.

Independence

Alama Report is not investment advice and does not recommend buying or selling securities or commodities. The editor runs other businesses in Senegal; Alama Report uses public and licensed sources only and never data from those businesses.
